ROOTED seating reveals itself where necessary and withdraws when convenient. Each piece simultaneously strengthens its urban condition and the multitude of relationships within it. It may wind or constrict or even beckon, while it converses with the trees and dances with all those passing by.
Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia, USA is the prototype urban context for ROOTED furniture. Located within a city at the crossroads of rich history and a booming port industry, the massive park currently lacks contextual awareness and opportunity for interaction. ROOTED solves this problem by transforming vernacular materials into unique and relevant spaces. With such a prominent shipping industry, the strong metal shipping containers are the perfect fit.
